God reveal
Himself to us in two ways. One is called ‘General Revelation ’in nature’. God reveal
His wonderful works, His mighty power and glory in nature for us to understand
Him in some way.
The second
is called ‘Special Revelation’ . God reveal His person, work, plan and will clearly
in the Bible to make us understand Him and relate to us closely.
Even
then, man can not fully understand God. Because,
for human being, God is “transcendent” .
This means, God is above and beyond human
understanding. As such, it is impossible
for us to understand Him and His ways, thoughts and mind.
Therefore,
even the God’s beloved Apostle Paul says in the Bible, “Oh, how great are God’s
riches and wisdom and knowledge! How impossible it is for us to understand his
decisions and his ways! For who can know
the Lord’s thoughts? Who knows enough to give him advice? And who has given him
so much that he needs to pay it back? For everything comes from him and exists
by his power and is intended for his glory. All glory to him forever! Amen.”
(Romans 11:33-36)
God Himself also says, “My thoughts are nothing like
your thoughts,” says the Lord. “And my ways are far beyond anything you could
imagine. For just as the heavens are higher than the earth, so my ways are
higher than your ways and my thoughts higher than your thoughts.” (Isaiah
55:8-9J
The Bible
says that God created heavens and earth and all things in heavens and on earth.
God created human beings to look after His creation on earth in His behalf.
Then, why
don’t God give us understand Him fully?
There
must be every good reason. God is love, according to 1 John 4:8. He loves us
that He sent His Son Jesus Christ to save us from eternal condemnation (John
3:16)
God keeps Himself away from our understanding
because He wants us to worship Him with respect and wonder, as the Apostle Paul
ends his above passage with worship: “All
glory to him forever! Amen!” (Romans 11:36)
God is all powerful, all knowing and is
present everywhere. He alone is worthy
of our praise and worship.
The
clearer reason is because of sin. We find in Genesis, man disobeyed God and is
called ‘the fall of man’ in sin.
Therefore, God sent out man from His presence. Thus, living away from
God, human beings are suffering un-ending misery due to evil in the world. Life on earth itself is misery. The power of
sin and evil torture human being from untold hardship like sickness, pain,
suffering, and death.
Therefore,
God Himself is not keeping Himself aloof from our reach and He is not hiding
Himself from us. He is present everywhere and is sustaining the universe. He cares
and bless all people on earth, even those who are not seeking Him and
worshipping Him. However, all men and
women can not receive His true blessings because they do not please Him and
seek Him.
But God
in His love sent His Son Jesus to save us and restore our broken relationship
with Him. Jesus came and lived among the people more than two thousand years
ago in Palestine. He taught the way of God, healed the sick, and raised the
dead. He died on the cross to fulfil the justice of God, as a living sacrifice
in an alter to please God.
God was
please and raised Jesus from the dead and has given Him all authorities on
earth and in heaven. Therefore, God forgive the sin (wrong done) by all those
who believe in Jesus and received Him
for their Lord and saviour. God receive all believers for His children and
bless them with eternal life in heaven.
To
conclude, God keep Himself beyond our understanding because of man’s sin and
because of his love for man, that man
may seek Him and accept his plan to go back to Him through Jesus Christ.
All who
received Jesus Christ will one day see him and understand Him fully. Apostle Paul knew this very well and say,
“For now
we see in a mirror dimly, but then face to face; now I know in part, but then I
will know fully just as I also have been fully known” (1 Corinthians 13:12)
Praise
the Lord.
May God help you understand Hid profound truth through
the Holy Spirit in Jesus name.
God bless you.
